A tradition that dates to the mid-18th century continues on Hatteras Island, where Old Christmas is still celebrated in early January.
This year’s Old Christmas will be at the Rodanthe-Waves-Salvo Community Building on Saturday, Jan. 4. Starts at 1 p.m. with the Oyster Shoot. Dinner is at 5 p.m. and then live music at 7:30 p.m.
