Luke Joseph Sessler, Jr., 79, of Wanchese, NC passed away Monday, December 30, 2019.
Born in Syracuse, New York, on August 22, 1940, he was the son of the late Luke J. Sessler III and Mary Honor Murphy Sessler. He attended Norview High School in Norfolk, VA then worked as a mechanic for Piedmont Airlines and later as a crane operator.
He is survived by children Luke J. Sessler V and wife Wendy, Liz S. Hodgis and husband Steve, Robert M. Sessler and wife Tracy, Joseph M. Sessler and wife Dawn, and Alan P. Sessler; grandchildren Dustin Morgan; Shelby, Luke VI and Joshua Sessler; Parker Hodgis, Alex Lane; Jessica, Jordan and Austin Sessler; Mark and Chelsea Kight; Christa Sessler; great-grandchildren Ayden, Carsyn and Melody Morgan; Paytynn Powell and Walker Archer; sister Marilyn Fantone; and nieces Helen and husband Greg Cummins and Melissa and husband Jim Mattes.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of nearly 50 years Judy Parker Sessler, and brother Richard J. Sessler.
A funeral will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 10, 2020, at Twiford Colony Chapel, Manteo with Pastor Steve Smith officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at Cudworth Cemetery.
