Phillip Walter Trueblood

Phillip Walter Trueblood, known affectionately to all as Phil, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2023, in Winterville, NC. Born on January 3, 1973, in Elizabeth City, NC, Phil was a beacon of love and kindness in the lives of all who knew him. His loving spirit and unwavering dedication to his family will be deeply missed.

Phil was a devoted family man. He is survived by his beloved wife, Beth Ann Riley Trueblood, and their two precious daughters, Riley and Mia Trueblood. His adored pet, Molly, whom he fondly referred to as his princess, also survives him. Phil’s love for his family was a shining example of his generous, loving nature. His mother, Cheryle Carkin (Don Winslow) of Elizabeth City, NC, his two brothers, Todd Trueblood (Shannon) of Farmville, NC, and Nick Carkin of Raleigh, NC, his nieces, Madison and Kennedy Trueblood, his great-niece, Emerson Trueblood, his aunt, Mary Tade (Ray) of Elizabeth City, NC, and his uncle, Joe Tade (Jan) of Elizabeth City, NC, also survive him. The love and respect he had for his extended family was evident in the close-knit relationships he maintained with them throughout his life.

Phil was a proud graduate of Northeastern High School, Class of 1991. His thirst for knowledge led him to earn his associate’s degree in Information Technology from Pitt Community College. His education paved the way for a successful career as a network analyst with Pitt County MIS. Phil’s work ethic and dedication to his profession were admired by his colleagues and friends alike.

Phil proudly served his country in the United States Army, earning an honorable discharge due to a service-related injury. His patriotism and love for his country were deeply ingrained in his character, and he carried these values with him throughout his life.

One of Phil’s greatest joys was watching his girls play softball. He was their biggest cheerleader, always present at their games, cheering them on with pride and love. His interests were deeply rooted in his love for his family, and he found his greatest happiness in the time he spent with them.

Phil was a man of many admirable qualities, but if one were to choose a single word to describe him, it would be ‘loving.’ His love for his family, his friends, his country, and his work was a testament to his kind and generous spirit. He had a unique ability to make those around him feel loved and cherished, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Phillip Walter Trueblood was a man of honor, love, and dedication. His life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of family. His memory will forever be cherished by his loved ones and all who had the privilege of knowing Phil.

A celebration of Phil’s life will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Ignite Church, 4150 Bayswater Road, Winterville, NC with Pastor Chris Lineberger officiating. The family will receive friends in the church lobby before the service beginning at 2:30 pm and immediately following the service.
