Tony Schiano, Monica Thibodeau, Don Kingston, Rob Mooney and Sandy Whitman were the top five for Duck Town Council, which will choose one member to be mayor.
Paula Sherlock won a seat on the Southern Shores council. Jeff Pruitt and Charlotte Walker took the two seats in Kitty Hawk.
In Nags Head, Bob Sanders and Michael Siers won commissioners seats, John Windley and Terry Gray were unopposed in Kill Devil Hills, while Manteo’s three seats up for election were won by Eddie Mann, Sherry Wickstrom and Ruth Stetson.
Some cities in the state, including Elizabeth City, Edenton, Ahoskie and Plymouth, had to postpone their elections until 2022 because of delays in getting the data they needed from the U.S. Census Bureau to set election districts.
