Steve House

In tonight’s Dare County Board of Commissioner’s District 3 race, Democrat Kathy McCullough-Testa appeared to concede to incumbent Steve House in a Facebook post late Tuesday.

At 10:15 p.m., with seven of 16 precincts reporting, the Republican House held 57.52 percent of the vote to McCullough-Testa’s 42.48 percent.

“I just wanted to thank each and every one of you for your support, dedication, and votes,” said McCullough-Testa, who lives in Southern Shores. “Although it looks like my campaign will not be successful, we worked hard, made so many new connections, and built a foundation for the future. My love, respect, and total sincere gratitude goes out to everyone this evening.

“We just don’t have the numbers in Dare County to win in this hyper-partisan environment. More to come tomorrow…”
