Gov. Roy Cooper won his re-election bid against Republican challenger Dan Forest on Tuesday night, but he wasn’t the favorite in Dare County.
With seven of 16 precincts reporting, Dare County voters had so far picked Forest 52.79% to Cooper’s 45.67%.
Statewide, Cooper had 51.51% of the vote to Forest’s 47.04% with 97 percent of precincts reporting.
