Leathea Raye Green Sliger, age 71, of Grandy, NC died on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at her residence.
Born in Fredericksburg, VA on May 16, 1950 to the late Milton N. Green and Sarah E. Burton Green, she was the wife of Donald L. Sliger.
A Licensed Practical Nurse, she was a member of the Patawomeck Tribe and had a servant’s heart. She volunteered whenever and wherever needed for all sorts of missions. She enjoyed crafting and loved flowers.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by five daughters, Patricia S. Green of Houston, TX, Elizabeth Kronholm (Joey) of Virginia Beach, VA, Penny Guilford (Harry) of Gore, VA, Melanie Sliger (Vianca) of Ecuador, and Heather Williamson (Tim) of Herndon, VA; a sister-in-law, Pam Green; her grandchildren, Megan, Sianna, Lydia, Keenan, Harper and Lilah; and three great-grandchildren, Coby, Devi, and Ezra. She was preceded in death by her step-father, Bill Dye; two brothers, Milton “Dink” Green, Jr. and Harold “Buzzy” Green; and a grandson, Billy.
A memorial service is scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 10, 2021 at Currituck Bible Baptist Church, 6339 Caratoke Highway, Grandy, NC 27939 with the Pastor Eric Rainwater officiating. Burial will be on at 2:00 p.m. on September 13, 2021 in Prospect Hill Cemetery, 200 East Prospect Street, Front Royal, VA 22630 with Chuck Eshelman officiating.
