JoAnn S. Ross, 73, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2021 of natural causes.
She was born and raised in Portsmouth, VA and was the daughter of the late Edward G. Smith Sr. and Eugenie B. Smith. She is survived by her one and only daughter, Meredith Stephens of Jarvisburg, NC (Andrew Stephens) and her three precious grandchildren, whom she loved more than anything, Owen, Wyatt and Katey Stephens. She is also survived by her sister Audrey S. Griswold of Ormond Beach, FL and her brother E. Garland Smith of Columbus, OH.
JoAnn enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a loving mother and amazing “Doe Doe” to her three grandkids. She loved music of all kinds and had an amazing singing voice. She was a fun-loving lady with a huge heart, and our family will miss her greatly, but are comforted to know that she is at peace in Heaven.
