Jean Henley Berry, 88, of Wanchese, NC went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, June 13, 2021.
Jean was born to Milton and Reba Henley on July 12, 1932. She met and married Stafford, her husband of 69-years, on September 15, 1951. She was a wonderful wife and helpmate as they pastored together for 69-years.
Along with her husband, Stafford, she is survived by two children, Allen Berry (Sue) of Wanchese, NC and Kristy Byers of Columbia, NC; two grandchildren, Jessica Ballance (Sam) and Matthew Scarborough (Gabby); and five great-grandchildren, Adrianna Hoy, Moses Ballance, and Addison, Vaeda, and Easton Scarborough. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Heather Lee Scarborough.
Jean was a wonderful example of the Proverbs 31 woman- Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. Her children arise up and call her blessed, her husband also, and he praiseth her. Favor is deceitful and beauty is vain, but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised!!
Jean’s homegoing service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at Twiford Colony Chapel with Pastors Reggie Parker and Jerald Craddock officiating. Private burial will take place at Austin Cemetery in Kitty Hawk.
