James Howard Morris, Jr., age 75, of Elizabeth City, NC died on Friday, April 15, 2022 at his residence. Born in Newport News, VA on September 16, 1946 to the late James Howard Morris and Claudia Clark Morris, he served his country honorably in the U. S. Army. After military service he worked in construction and sales until retirement. Mr. Morris was a Mason and member of Great Bridge Lodge #257 and a member of the American Society of Safety Professionals.
He is survived by a son, James Howard Morris, III (Colleen) of Austin, TX; two sisters, Judy Wallace (Jimmy) of Elizabeth City, NC and Joan Metzger of Camden, NC; a brother, John Morris (Shirley) of Hertford, NC; a half-brother, Leslie Morris; two grandchildren, James Howard Morris, IV of MI and Sean Kyle Morris (Cynthia) of VA; and seventeen nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Jeannette Johnstone, and two brothers, Joseph Morris and Andrew Morris.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2022 at Twiford Memorial Chapel. The service will be livestreamed at www.facebook.com/TwifordFuneralHome.
