Manns Harbor- Beloved Dare County native Betty Faye Crain of Manns Harbor passed on March 24, 2021 after a long illness. She was the daughter of the late John Edward Crain and the late Bessie Mae Twiddy Crain. Betty was also predeceased by her beloved nephew, Robert Ward of Manns Harbor.
Betty worked hard for many years as a housekeeper at the historic ocean front Carolinian Hotel. More recently, she was a popular member of the Manteo McDonald’s team for ten years. Betty was also a devoted member of Faith Baptist Church of Manteo.
Betty leaves her two brothers; William Edward Crain (Sandra) and John Mark Crain (Rhonda) all of Manns Harbor; five nieces, Donna Long Hill of Plymouth, NC, Daphane Collier of East Lake, NC, Trisha Long of Manns Harbor, Tabitha Long Coder of Kitty Hawk, NC, and Misty Crain of Clyde, NC; one nephew, Willie Crain also of Clyde; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family will host a private memorial service. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation in Betty’s memory directly to the family via Betty’s brother John Crain.
