William Robert Ruiz, age 78, of Elizabeth City, NC died on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center. Born in North Island, CA on October 22, 1943 to the late Eugene Gifford Ruiz and Elisa D. Eribez Ruiz, he was the husband of Debra Ann Midgett. William served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force and then became a long-haul trucker.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a step-daughter, Tammy Hurdle Davis of Elizabeth City, NC; two sisters, Rita Coop of San Diego, CA and Barbara Tinger of San Marcos, CA; two brothers, Eugene Ruiz and Michael Outlaw, both of San Diego, CA; two step-grandchildren, Allison Davis and Rachael Davis; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Betty and Allen Meads.
