Wilbur Ray Berry, Sr., age 67, of Shawboro, NC died on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at his home.
He was born in Elizabeth City, NC on March 9, 1954 to the late Willie Berry, Jr., and Mary Luceba Godfrey Berry. A member of Faith Baptist Church, he formerly served as a deacon. He was a skilled electrician who was so good at his work that his nickname was “Wire Twister.” He worked as an outside salesman for Electrical Suppliers and was owner/operator of W. R. Berry Electrical.
He is survived by his sons, Wilbur “Ray” Berry, Jr. (Jennifer), Jason Berry, Allen Berry, Adam Berry (Mary) and Parker Berry; two sisters, Kathy Lee and Ann Pierce (Wayne); and eight grandchildren, Zach, Aden, Lee, Faith, Ashley, David, Daniel and Justin. He was predeceased by a sister, Nona Marie Berry and a brother, Freddie Berry.
