A man from Roanoke Island is one of three people facing charges of identity theft in Beaufort County. Another suspect in the case has been arrested in Georgia, and a third is still at large.
News Channel 12 reports Lance Lloyd Montague Jr., 38, of Wanchese was arrested by the Kill Devil Hills Police Department for allegedly being part of a group that passed stolen fraudulent checks totaling over $5,900 dollars.
The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office said Ralph Allen Miles III, 32, is awaiting extradition back to North Carolina, while Billie Mizelle Hamilton, 49, who also goes by the name of Billie Jo Mizelle, has not been found.
Investigators said they are wanted for a combined 14 felony counts of identity theft, forgery of an instrument, uttering a forged instrument and obtaining property by false pretense.
Anyone that knows where Billie Mizelle may be is asked to call the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office or Beaufort County Crimes Stoppers.
