A weak low pressure system that continues to slowly spin offshore that looks a little more menacing from space then it actually is has been responsible for the continued windy, foggy and at times wet conditions along the Outer Banks for the last few days.
The National Weather Service office at Newport/Morehead City says the low is expected to move closer to shore on Wednesday, and give us another day of cloudy, cool conditions with an occasional shower. The onshore flow also continues to produce rough sea conditions.
Drier air will finally start to move in as the low finally swept out to sea Wednesday night and into Thursday, with warmer temperatures along the beaches.
Inland areas of northeastern North Carolina could reach 80 degrees by the end of the weekend before a weakening cold front will push through Friday night, and then a stronger cold front pushes through later Sunday.
