A group of first responders from agencies in Dare and Currituck counties and with volunteers from along the Outer Banks were at Walmart in Kitty Hawk on Black Friday collecting donations for the Marine Corps Reserve annual Toys for Tots.

Donations are also being accepted at drop boxes throughout Dare and Currituck, including all Kitty Hawk Kites locations.

Organizers said they already have more than 500 local children signed-up to receive donations, and anticipate the final number will be well over 800.

More than 700 toys were donated on Friday alone.

Donations are being stored at the former Paparazzi’s theater in Kitty Hawk until distribution, but with a new occupant moving in, Toys for Tots of Dare and Currituck will be searching for another location for 2022.

If you’d like to help or will have a space available next year, contact Tony H., LCO-Coordinator for Toys for Tots Dare and Currituck, call 252-226-0417, email Kill.Devil.Hills.NC@toysfortots.org, visit their Facebook page or website.
