After one of the busiest tourist seasons on the Outer Banks, Twiddy & Co. is proud to announce their next installment of the Icons of the Outer Banks mini-documentary series which will feature Aycock Brown.

Brown was influential in making the Outer Banks the tourist destination that it is today.

An eccentric man that could always be seen wearing his boater hat, a Hawaiian shirt and carrying his various cameras around his neck, Brown was the first director of the Outer Banks Tourism Bureau.

Many credit him with putting the Outer Banks on the map, and fostering the tourist boom of the 1970s and 1980s.

The life of Aycock Brown is extolled in this episode of the mini-documentary series from the perspective of a local historian and his own grandson.
