Dare County and College of The Albemarle held a groundbreaking event Thursday morning for COA’s brand-new 30,000-square-foot academic building that will be constructed on the college’s Dare County campus in Manteo.

Demolition of the building that previously existed on the site at 205 Highway 64 in Manteo began in September 2020.

Construction of the two-story, state-of-the-art facility is slated to begin in early 2021, with an expected completion date in February 2022.
