Vandals destroyed as many as 100 mailboxes and street signs in Colington Harbour overnight Wednesday into Thursday — and a $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest.

Most of the damage was along Colington Drive, Soundview Drive and Harbourview Drive, the Colington Harbour Association said in a note to residents.

“The sheriff’s deputy called in for additional personnel to help write reports because he was at 17 and counting. In addition, our pavilion was vandalized in our sound front park,” the association wrote.

The sheriff’s office is currently handling any investigations and is asking for your help.

Please advise if you have any CCTV cameras, or any other means, that may help identify the time and identity of the individuals involved. Two homeowners have offered a total reward of $500 for any information leading to the identity and conviction of the vandals.

If you have any information that could assist in this investigation, please contact the crime line, sheriff’s office directly or the CHA office anonymously.
