The N.C. Highway Patrol says a woman lying on a two-lane road in Currituck County was killed after being struck by a vehicle Monday night.
The incident happened at approximately 9:10 p.m., along N.C. 34 near the Indiantown Road intersection in Shawboro.
Mariah Kelsy Sayre, 27, of Shawboro, died at the scene.
According to state troopers, the driver of the vehicle involved is a teenager and there was no impairment or inattention, such as mobile device use, involved. No charges have been filed.
