After the first blood drive scheduled for Saturday, April 4, was fully booked, The Blood Connection and The Outer Banks Hospital are partnering to host another community blood drive at the Outer Banks Family YMCA on Thursday, April 9, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
In order to prevent shortages during the COVID-19 outbreak, healthy and eligible individuals who are feeling well are urged to donate blood.
All beds will be sanitized between each blood donor. If necessary, donors will be asked to wait in their vehicles to eliminate the need for people to gather in the same area.
As a donor, you should check in at the blood drive to be registered. You will then return to your vehicle and wait for your call or text.” Also, due to high demand, TBC has added additional staff which allows for a limited number of additional appointments. Donors must make an appointment.
All chairs will be spaced as far apart as possible and cleaning procedures have been enhanced. Make sure that you are feeling well and healthy before your donation, and be sure to wash your hands thoroughly.
Blood donated at The Blood Connection blood drive will stay local to assist residents of the Outer Banks.
