A malfunctioning cooler led to fire crews being called Sunday afternoon to Khan’s Mongolian Grill in Kill Devil Hills.
Firefighters from Kill Devil Hills, Colington and Nags Head fire departments responded to the restaurant at the corner of East Atlantic Street and South Croatan Highway at 3:17 p.m.
The building was evacuated when the fire department arrived on the scene, and the fire had been extinguished by employees, according to a press release issued Monday.
The situation was reported to be under control by 3:38 p.m.
Firefighters remained on the scene late into the afternoon for ventilation and investigation. Kill Devil Hills police said no one was injured.
