UPDATED: Child out of hospital after being struck by vehicle in South Nags Head

A 10-year-old from Pennsylvania is out of the hospital following treatment for injuries after being struck by a vehicle Saturday evening in South Nags Head.

Emergency crews were dispatched to the 8000 block of South Oregon Inlet Road around 7:50 p.m.

Town of Nags Head spokesperson Roberta Thuman said the child was struck by a vehicle driven by a Virginia resident traveling southbound.

The youth was transported to The Outer Banks Hospital, treated and released.

No charges have been filed in relation to the accident.
