Kitty Hawk Kites, Surfrider Foundation beach cleanup this Saturday in Kill Devil Hills

Kitty Hawk Kites is partnering with Surfrider Foundation Outer Banks Chapter to host a socially distanced beach cleanup on Saturday, November 14th.

Participants will meet at the Ocean Bay Blvd. Public Beach Access between 9 am-3 pm to receive supplies. Each participant will fill out a waiver upon arrival and will be outfitted with gloves, trash bags, and pickers.

Once supplies have been given to participants, they are then free to choose whichever beach they would like to clean, whether it be their favorite place to congregate or their home beach access. We encourage each participant to track all trash picked up through the Marine Debris Tracker app.

Surfrider Foundation is a non-profit environmental organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world’s oceans, waves, and beaches. Surfrider’s Outer Banks Chapter, founded in 1993, includes more than 100 members who are all dedicated to preserving the environment of our home from Corolla to Frisco. They believe that the more people enjoy the beach, the more they’ll work to protect its culture and ecology.

Over the past two decades, Outer Banks Surfrider’s Chapter has tackled issues such as water quality and offshore energy while still giving back to the community through scholarship programs, events, and beach cleanups.
