The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary will be offering free vessel safety checks for recreational boats of all kinds on Saturday, August 5, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Barry’s on Walnut Island Restaurant and Lodge located in Grandy.
Boat owners will receive a vessel safety check decal recognized by all government agencies. In addition to power and sail boats, the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary will inspect and discuss safety issues for kayaks and other paddlecraft.
