Dare County Schools on Saturday reported two coronavirus cases at Manteo Middle School, with 51 people identified as direct contacts.
Those people, who may be students, teachers, staff, will begin quarantining immediately following N.C. Department of Health and Human Services guidelines, Dare Schools Superintendent John Farrelly said in an email.
The Dare County Schools district safety team will deep cleanse and sanitize the building so that the school can re-open on Monday morning.
