A developing nor’easter is expected to bring high winds, rain and possible soundside flooding to the Outer Banks starting Saturday morning.
The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory from 1 a.m. to 10 a.m. tomorrow for the entire Outer Banks. West winds of 30 to 40 mph are expected, with gusts up to 55 mph.
A coastal flood advisory is in effect from 4 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the Albemarle, Croatan and Roanoke Sounds, Kitty Hawk Bay and adjacent tidal creeks. The National Weather Service says up to 1 to 2 feet of inundation above ground level is expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
There’s a slight risk of severe storms as the cold front moves in early Saturday.

Ocean overwash is also possible on Ocracoke Island.
