Six Manteo Elementary School students are quarantined after coming in contact with an adult who has tested positive for COVID-19, Dare County Schools said in an email this morning.

Superintendent John Farrelly said the school system is working with the Dare County Health and Human Services Department after the positive adult came in direct contact with the children on a school bus.

The staff member and students are being quarantined following state and local protocols, he said.

Dare County students returned to classrooms this week under a hybrid, two-days-per-week schedule.
