Repair work underway on stormwater pipe at Memorial and Curlew in Nags Head

The Town of Nags Head Public Works Department is currently in the process of conducting repair work on a section of the underground storm drain network in the proximity of the 3400 block of S. Memorial Ave., near the Curlew St. intersection.

Recent rainfall events have compromised a short section of storm drain near the upstream portion of the Curlew St. Ocean outfall.

Dewatering operations will be necessary to conduct repair work and may require pumps to run during early morning and possibly evening hours.

Machinery, equipment and traffic control measures are currently staged around the active construction zone and will remain in place until the repair is completed. Public Works maintenance crews will be continuing with repair work on Tuesday June 23.

Additional updates will be provided on project status. The Town of Nags Head asks that motorists and pedestrians exercise caution when travelling around the active construction.
