Police are investigating after a drive-by shooting Sunday night that left shell casings scattered across driveways on East 3rd Street in Kill Devil Hills.
The shots rang out just after 8 p.m. and were fired from a passing vehicle heading toward U.S. 158 from the area of the Beach Road.
Police on Monday afternoon found at least nine shell casings along the street. There were no injuries and there did not appear to be any damage to homes or vehicles.
Neighbors on the street, a mix of full-time residents and part-time property owners, did not see the vehicle involved.
