No one injured in Kitty Hawk beach house fire

No one was injured in a Monday afternoon fire on the Beach Road in Kitty Hawk.

The call went out at 4:08 p.m. in the 4100 block of North Virginia Dare Trail. Fire officials said no one was in the house at the time.

Fire crews from Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, and Southern Shores quickly controlled and extinguished the blaze that started on the exterior of the house and spread to the interior.

The exact cause was still under investigation, according to Kitty Hawk Fire Chief Mike Talley.

Traffic on N.C. 12 was diverted as fire crews fought the blaze.
