Firefighters battled harsh weather conditions Sunday evening to quickly put out a blaze on Sound Landing Road in Kitty Hawk.

Upon arrival, crews found smoke and flames visible on the roof and conducted an interior fire attack locating heavy fire in the attic. The fire was quickly extinguished and no injuries were reported.

“Special thanks to Southern Shores Volunteer Fire Department, Kill Devil Hills Fire Department, and Dare County EMS for their assistance and continued support,” the department posted on their Facebook page.
