Manteo High School closed Thursday due to COVID-19 cases

Manteo High School will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, Nov. 5, after the Dare County School system was notified of three COVID-19 cases.

Upon initiation of contact tracing, the Dare County Department of Health and Human Services identified 75 stakeholders who have been identified as direct contacts. These stakeholders will begin quarantining immediately following N.C. Department of Health and Human Services guidelines, the school division said.

School division did not say if the positive cases were among students, staff or both.

Manteo High School tomorrow for all students and staff so the district safety team can deep cleanse and sanitize the entire building and will reopen Friday, Nov. 6.
