Hyde County to begin vaccinating teachers, front line workers regardless of age

The Hyde County Health Department has announced it will begin administering COVID-19 vaccines to teachers, front line workers and others regardless of age starting Wednesday and that the first shots have now arrived on Ocracoke.

Vaccinations will be available at the health department in Swan Quarter by appointment only for the following individuals:
● First responders (e.g., firefighters and police officers)
● Food and agricultural workers
● U.S. Postal Service workers
● Manufacturing workers
● Grocery store workers
● Public transit workers
● Education and child care workers (teachers, support staff, day care).

Hyde County Health will also continue to vaccinate people who are 75 years or older if you have not been vaccinated yet.

To pre-register and schedule an appointment, call 252-926-4399.

Vaccines were also arriving at the Ocracoke Health Center, and will be distributed starting Wednesday.

Advanced registration and an appointment will be required to receive the COVID-10 vaccine at the Ocracoke
Health Center. This will prevent wasting the doses after they are prepared.

The registration form is available
online at https://ocracokehealthcenter.org/covid-19-vaccine-registration-request-form/ .

If you are eligible for the current phase (or prior phase), you will be allowed to register and request an appointment.

All Ocracoke COVID Testing and Vaccine appointments should utilize the COVID phone number: 252-489-3622.

Leave a message with your name, date of birth and phone number. Someone will call you back. Multiple messages
will delay callback times.
