A 41-year-old Grandy woman was arrested Sunday afternoon on drug charges after a traffic stop in Kill Devil Hills.
A Dare County sheriff’s deputy conducted the traffic stop at 4:17 p.m. near 808 S Croatan Highway. Kill Devil Hills police assisted and deployed a K-9, Sheriff Doug Doughtie said in a news release.
The dog alerted to the presence of a controlled substance and a search of the car turned up suspected heroin, marijuana and drug paraphernalia, the release said.
April Marie Sharp, 41, of the 100 Block of Woodhouse Drive in Grandy, was charged with felony possession of heroin and was being held on a $6,000 secured bond, the release said. She was also give misdemeanor citations for possession of marijuana and marijuana drug paraphernalia.
