It was a busy National Signing Day for First Flight High School on Wednesday, as three athletes committed to play in the ACC, SEC and AAC.
“We’ve got some hardworking kids with some great coaches behind them,” said Nighthawks Athletic Director Chad Williams. “It doesn’t happen overnight.”
“To see three kids going to the Division One level in three different sports is a testament to the whole athletic program,” Williams said.
Three-time state champion golfer Katherine Schuster, who has also won multiple amateur tour events and a Drive, Chip and Putt Championship at Augusta National, signed with Clemson.
Lauren Montgomery, a member of the Nighthawks 2018 women’s soccer state championship team, along with Beach FC and the N.C. Olympic Development Program, has committed to play at Ole Miss.
A winner of multiple state running titles, Tyler Sylvia signed a National Letter of Intent with East Carolina’s track and field program.
