Dare Minority Coalition hosting march for those lost to police violence

The Dare Minority Coalition, in conjunction with local law enforcement agencies and the community as a whole, will host a peaceful gathering Tuesday at 5 p.m. in Manteo to “silently honor those we’ve lost to police violence in 2020.”

Those attending are asked to gather in the big parking lot beside the College of the Albemarle across from Piggly Wiggly and march out onto the sidewalks linking Highway 64.

“Bring your signs. Bring your passion. Bring your families to show we can all live peacefully and lawfully together,” the coalition said in a Facebook event post. “Please, no drama, fighting or destruction of property. This isn’t that type of event. It’s in memory of all those who have departed this life unnecessarily. This is about honoring them.”
