Dare County reports 24 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday

The Dare County Department of Health and Human Service reported 24 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday, for a total of 834 since testing began in March. Seven of the new cases are children under 17 years old, and four schools are closed today due to positive cases within the school communities.

Among county residents there are currently 87 active cases, with four people hospitalized.

The health department reported the following about the new cases:

2) non-resident, 25-49, female, isolating in Dare
3) non-resident, 17 under, male, isolating in Dare
4) resident, 17 under, female, home isolation
5) resident, 17 under, female, home isolation
6) resident, 17 under, male, home isolation

8) resident, 17 under, male, home isolation
9) resident, 17 under, female, home isolation
10) resident, 25-49, female, home isolation
11) resident, 18-24, female, home isolation
12) resident, 25-49, female, home isolation
13) resident, 25-49, female, home isolation
14) resident, 18-24, male, home isolation
15) resident, 25-49, female, home isolation
16) resident, 25-49, female, home isolation
