The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management has confirmed to Coastal Review Online that the Trump administration’s 10-year moratorium on offshore energy leasing beginning in 2023 includes renewable energy such as wind turbines.
The President’s memo does not affect the lease already granted for a wind farm roughly 30 miles off the northern Outer Banks.
