Tomorrow night, let’s unite to light up the OBX

Where there’s light, there’s hope. And a group of local residents hope to get as many Outer Banks residents as possible to flip on their porch or outside lights Saturday night as the International Space Station hovers overhead.

OBX Lights United asks that everyone keep their lights on from 8 p.m. to midnight.

“Let’s show the world that just because we have to keep our distance right now, it doesn’t mean we stop loving or caring about each other,” organizers said in a Facebook even post. “We stand united that we will not be overcome by this virus. In fact, we will come back from this unexpected season stronger than ever!”

The International Space Station is expected to be overhead and visible, weather permitting, around 8:30 p.m.
