Timothy Paul McDougal, 62, of Moyock, NC went into the hands of our Lord February 28, 2023 at 11:10 pm. Tim was preceded in death by his parents Howard and Betty Ruth McDougal.
A best friend to everyone- Tim was born in Portsmouth, VA but spent most of his childhood in Virginia Beach, VA. He worked passionately in the fire suppression industry for over 47 years. In recent years, Tim was a valued employee with Fire Tech Services of Chesapeake, VA. He was also proud of earning his GED at Knapp Junior High School in Currituck County. When Tim wasn’t working, he was an avid waterman; spending countless hours boating, fishing, and crabbing throughout the coastal waters of North Carolina and Virginia. Tim will be greatly missed but fondly remembered as a loving husband, father, and “Poppy” as well as a loyal friend and brother.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Frances McDougal of the Moyock residence; his daughter, Brandie (Mat) McCoy of Huntington, WV; his son, Marc McDougal also of Moyock; four grandchildren, Jake, Kylie, Chloe, and Thomas McCoy of Huntington, WV; three sisters Betty (Bob) Mitchell of Moyock, Glenda (Dave) Skieff of Opelika, AL, and Brenda Miller of Moyock, NC; two brothers, Marvin (Loretta) McDougal of Shawboro, NC and Kenneth (Vicky) McDougal of Chesapeake, VA as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family is honoring Tim’s preference for cremation. His memorial service will be held at Moyock Assembly of God Church (100 Ranchland Drive Moyock, NC 27958) Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 2 pm.
