Thomas Keith “Pap” “Snappy Pappy” “Doodle”, Mauk age 81, peacefully passed away, August 26, 2024 in Currituck Heath and Rehab. He was born in Cowansville, PA the son of the late Thomas O. Mauk and Iva P. Mauk. He has been a resident of Currituck, NC for 17 years.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 58 years, Julia Kathleen “Judy” (Folmer) Mauk; whom he married July 29, 1966; son, Keith Allen Mauk of Meadville PA; daughters, Kimberly Anne Smith (predeceased 2012) and Kristene Anne Vick (Brian) of Shawboro NC; eight grandkids, one (predeceased 1989); five great-grandkids; one sister, Lillian Gearhart of Albion, PA, as well as his nieces and nephews.
He was also predeceased by two sisters, Loretta Kay Otteni (husband Richard), Yvonne Sargent (husband, Charles) and two brothers, Otis Mauk, and Kenneth Mauk.
Thomas attended Northwestern High School in Albion PA. He was employed at Erie Steel Mill in Erie, PA and General Motors in Lordstown, OH.
His interest was older (fast) cars. A few of his favorite movies were Grease, Dirty Dancing, Coyote Ugly, and The Other Woman. His favorite music artists were Elvis Presley and Johnnie Cash.
A funeral service will be held at Church of New Beginnings, 112 Currituck Commercial Dr, Unit D, Moyock NC, 27958 at 2 pm Saturday, August 31, 2024 with Pastors Vic Culberson and Ann Sahr officiating. Burial will follow in Moyock Memorial Cemetery, 230 Caratoke Hwy, Moyock NC, 27958. Friends and family will gather following the service.
