Volunteers needed for Marathon weekend; school clubs, teams can earn cash by helping

Volunteers are still needed to assist with this weekend’s Townebank Outer Banks Marathon events, and Dare County School students have a chance to earn money for their sports teams or clubs in the process.

Any Dare County Schools-affiliated sports team or club that has at least six students and two adults volunteer for at least four hours, Outer Banks Sporting Events will contribute $250 to that team or club.

It’s an easy way for teams and clubs to get some extra money and a great way for students to earn some volunteer hours.

These club spots will fill up fast so act quickly. And individual volunteers are always welcome too.

Coaches and/or sponsors can call Jenny Ash 954-415-0053 before Friday to sign-up.

Individual volunteers are also still needed, and can register online at https://vmodcui.active.com/responsive/eventGroups/1611103/jobs.
