Third annual OBX Taco Cook-Off set for Sunday

The third annual OBX Taco Cook-Off, which helps local send kids to summer camp, is scheduled for Sunday, April 28, from noon to 3 p.m. at Ortega’z Southwestern Grill and Wine Bar in downtown Manteo.

Tacos will be served until 2:30 p.m. or until supplies run out, and results will be announced shortly after.

This year’s competitors are Ortega’z Southwestern Grill & Wine Bar, Blue Moon Beach Grill, Cafe Lachine, Striper’s Bar and Grille, Bad Bean Baja Grill and Beachside Bistro.

Admission is $20 for adults, with children under 10 free. Tickets can be purchased the day of the event.

There will also be live music, raffle prizes and plenty of kids’ activities. The event is hosted by friends and family in honor of Lilly Roderick and money will send children to summer camp at Jennette’s Pier and N.C. Aquarium on Roanoke Island.
