Celebrate the artistic community on Hatteras Island through June 14 at Dare County Arts Council’s 7th Annual Rock The Cape Festival.

This year’s event concludes with a soundfront concert at REAL Watersports on Friday, June 14.

Surf rock musicians The Chong Band from Virginia Beach will headline the concert with duo Matt Hoggard and Aaron Caswell from local Outer Banks rock band Formula opening.

“Hatteras is a magical place, and The Chong Band is stoked to be a part of Rock The Cape this year,” said The Chong Band’s frontman Jesse Chong.

The sunset concert at REAL Watersports is a fundraiser for Dare County Arts Council’s programming and events on Hatteras Island.

“We’re excited to host Rock The Cape 2019,” said REAL Watersports co-founder Trip Forman. “The local Outer Banks arts and music scene is exploding and this event will help bring funding and awareness to keep it moving forward.”

Doors will open at 6 p.m. for the family-friendly concert, which will also feature a hooping/fire performance by Panda Daniels and Randi O’Sullivan and a kids’ arts and crafts tent.

Concert tickets are $5 in advance and $10 at the door. Tickets can be purchased online at Realwatersports.com/pages/music and RockTheCapeOBX.com as well as inside REAL Watersports’ flagship store. Kids 12 and under are free.
