Road construction is underway on Milltail Road on Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge, and could last until approximately August 8.

The construction project consists of raising the profile of Milltail Road on approximately 0.64 miles of roadway and making repairs to the Milltail Bridge. The project is being funded and managed through the Federal Highways Administration.

Milltail Road will be closed to all non-construction traffic from the intersection with Sandy Ridge down to the intersection of Possum, Navy Shell and Milltail Roads, during mobilization of equipment and construction.

The Milltail boat launch will also be closed in conjunction with the road closure.
