According to The Discoverer, “you could spend an entire week exploring the Outer Banks,” making it the ideal vacation destination.
In addition to well-known tourist attractions like the Wright Brothers National Memorial and Jennette’s Pier, dubbed “one of the best fishing piers on the East Coast,” The Discoverer notes the endless possibilities that can be had on Roanoke Island, as well as the journey further south via ferry.
Above all, the Outer Banks’ spot on the listicle emphasizes the Outer Banks National Scenic Byway, which passes through 21 coastal villages along 138 driving miles and 25 ferry-riding miles. The perfect stretch of pavement for the avid road-tripper.
