Terry William Noordsy, age 68, Elizabeth City, NC, passed away on Monday, November 9, 2020 at Sentara Norfolk General.
Terry was born in Sioux Falls, SD to the late John Leroy Noordsy and Patricia Lee Rose Noordsy. Terry lived in Marion, SD for 8 years before his family moved to Manhattan, KS. He graduated from Manhattan High School.
After serving his country honorably in the U. S. Navy, as a Corpsman, he became a Radiology Technologist. After traveling up and down the East Coast managing a Magnetic Resonance Imaging Scanner, he settled down with Vidant Hospital in Edenton, NC where he worked for 10 years. He loved his job, the people he worked with, and the patients he provided services for. He had a heart of service.
Terry loved fishing and enjoyed sports. He loved camping and spent many years enjoying these interests with his family. He loved watching his grandchildren participate in dance, volleyball, baseball, and other school activities. He was very proud of their academic accomplishments. He took great pride in his home, yard, and landscaping.
Terry is survived by his wife of 44 years, Vicki Noordsy, and their two children and families: Mason Noordsy and Chelsea Williamson (Brian), both of Elizabeth City, NC; four grandchildren, Hannah Williamson, Greenville, NC, and Victoria Williamson, Alexis Williamson, and Nathaniel Williamson of Elizabeth City, NC. Survivors also include his sister, Jill Guffy (Michael) of Ames, IA; his sister-in-law, Pat Noordsy of Sioux Falls, SD; and his mother-in-law, Dorothy Flood of Elizabeth City, NC; and with many other neices and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Tom Noordsy, and his father-in-law, Donald Flood.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 13, 2020 at Fountain of Life, officiated by Pastor Hans Hess. Due to Covid-19 the family request that guests wear a mask and practice social distancing at the opportunity to celebrate Terry’s life.
