Are you in search of the perfect fur-ever friend? A new addition to the family, perhaps? OBX Today in partnership with the Outer Banks SPCA is proud to present “Tail Waggin’ Tuesdays.”
Each Tuesday, browse our provided selection of videos and images and follow along as we showcase a variety of pets that are currently awaiting adoption at our local animal shelter.
This week’s featured pets are Ruth, Bluto, Toast, Luka, Bow, Kody, Phoenix, Princess, and Marteeni. Verbiage is provided by shelter manager Leann Saunders:
Ruth
Ruth was brought into our care as a stray from Avon and was sadly never reclaimed. She did have a collar on so we were hopeful her family would come get her but we are glad to be able to give her a second chance at finding a forever home. She is about two years old and 35 pounds. She loves other animals, being outside, and playing ball! Ruth has the funniest zoomies and loves to cuddle. She would be the perfect addition to a family with kids!
Bluto
Bluto is about a year old and was brought into our care after he was found abandoned on a piece of hunting property. Bluto came in with old injuries and looked like he had been used for target practice 🙁 Bluto was very skinny and we are working hard on getting him back healthy and finding him the home he deserves. Bluto does good with other animals and loves food! He is learning to walk on the leash and has such a fun personality but just needs someone who has patience and understanding of his background.
Toast is about two years old and was originally surrendered into our care because his family was going through some health issues and did not have the time to take care of him anymore. He was adopted from us a few months ago and was doing great but sadly they had to bring him back due to landlord issues. Toast has so much potential to be a great dog for someone! He is very smart, is house trained, and does well with other dogs. We hate when dogs bounce in and out of the shelter and are hopeful he can find his forever home soon!
