Each Tuesday, browse our provided selection of videos and images and follow along as we showcase a variety of pets that are currently awaiting adoption at our local animal shelter.
This week’s featured pets are Abby, Nala, Olive, Stella, Lisa, and Danni. Verbiage is provided by shelter manager Leann Saunders:
Abby is about 7 years old and was brought into our care with the help of Animal Control. Abby’s previous family could no longer provide her with the care she deserved. Abby was brought into our care with two other dogs that have been adopted. Abby loves to cuddle and is so personable! She has so much love to give. She enjoys laying in the sun, and snuggling up in her dog bed!
Nala is about 2 years old and was surrendered into our care because her family was moving and could not take her with them. Nala is very nervous in this environment but we were told she previously lived with other animals. We are actively looking for a foster for her to be able to get out of this environment and open up to learn more about her personality. She loves to be outside and play with toys! Once she trusts you, she is very loyal and affectionate.
Olive is about a year old and had to have major surgery on her lip due to an ulcer. Olive is happy and has become very special to us. She has been here since July 26th. It is important in Olive’s recovery that she is kept up to date on her monthly flea preventatives and she can only eat and drink out of metal food/water bowls.
Stella is two years old and was brought into our care as a stray. We believe she was an indoor/outdoor cat. She does great with other cats, is vocal and lets you know how happy she is, and is super sweet!
Lisa is two years old and was brought into our care as a stray from Manteo. Lisa is so sweet and loves chin scratches!
Danni is two months old and has been in our care since she was a kitten back in October. Danni is nervous in this environment but would really benefit from a home environment. She loves to play once she is comfortable and likes other cats!
